4PL Solution

4PL providers assemble the resources, capabilities, and technology to design, build and run comprehensive supply chain solutions.

Organisations using the TransLogix suite can often provide technology and skills that are far superior to those that their individual clients are able to bring to the task. The improved management of the supply chain has significant benefits for the client - typically in the areas of increased customer services levels, increased stock turns, decreased purchase costs and decreased obsolescence. This makes it a highly valued service to provide.

Better Customer Service and Higher Sales Productivity

Our 4PL customers opt for our fully integrated warehousing, distribution and financial solutions with advanced features such as EDI, inventory visibility, vendor scheduling and Distribution Requirements Planning (DRP). These are proven techniques for increasing profitability through reduced inventory holdings and lead times, improved customer service and lower order processing costs.

  • Inventory visibility over multiple warehouses
  • Purchasing with vendor performance analysis and vendor scheduling
  • Import costing with multi-currency control
  • Sales analysis with multi-period histories and budgeting
  • Demand forecasting for better inventory planning
  • DRP for JIT inventory control, purchasing and import ordering, branch replenishments, etc
  • Distribution Requirements Planning (DRP) action messages - a powerful tool for real-time inventory management
  • Order processing and invoicing with back order control and full pricing/discounting flexibility
  • EDI links to customers and suppliers
  • Fully integrated accounting modules; debtors, creditors, general ledger, and 4GL Report/Enquiry Generator

Demand Forecasting

The system simulates a variety of formulae to discover the one that would have been most successful in matching that item's demand pattern in the previous period. The selected formulae is used to forecast demand across all warehousing points for the coming periods. These forecasts can then be used as input into the re-order planning cycle.

Distribution Resource Planning (DRP)

DRP is a time-phased technique, borrowing on the material requirements planning (MRP) methodology of manufacturing. It takes the known and forecast demands of branch warehouses and, through MRP logic, calculates the gross requirements on the supplying warehouse. This in turn allows you to produce time bucketed Vendor and Transfer schedules. These schedules can, after review, be automatically processed into Purchase Orders or Warehouse Transfer requests.

Purchasing

The purchasing module allows you to manage the process of placing and tracking local and overseas Purchase Orders, allowing the tracking of both discrete orders and amalgamated shipments. It also calculates all of the appropriate landed costings. As a by-product of this process, the warehouse contractor can also measure and report on Vendor Performance to the client.
