Transport Operations

The costs and challenges for those who run transport operations continue to increase. The ability to run a transport operation efficiently and effectively can no longer be left to chance. TransLogix transport solutions are designed to maximize operational efficiencies and minimize costs, streamlining processes and providing a competitive advantage to help your business grow.

Operations is the core of the Transport Management System (TMS), providing complete control of daily transport functions.

  • Jobs are entered into the system once, and automatically allocated a unique booking number. Any user can then manage and track jobs in real time from the initial quotation, through confirmation and invoicing via the transport diaries.
  • Run sheets and operations diaries can be tailor-made to suit your particular business. Individual users and roles can create their own diary formats.
  • The system generates hundred of reports including drivers' job sheets, manifests, POD's, run sheets, and subcontractors payment advice (SPA's).
  •

Transport Invoicing

The Transport Management System (TMS) is completely integrated, which means data is entered once and instantly available in all modules throughout the system.

  • Once a job has been priced it can be invoiced. Often this will occur once the POD is received. Alternatively jobs can be consolidated to produce a single invoice for a  customer.
  • Invoices can be formatted to your specification and printed on plain, headed or pre-printed paper.
  • many Transport companies opt to email invoices electronically to customers to  save time and money.
  • The systems links all relevant data and documents so that you can easily navigate between jobs, consignment notes, invoices and payments, making it quick and easy to respond to customer queries.
  •

Vehicle and Job Profitability

The ability to easily identify profitable and unprofitable vehicles, routes, customers etc is a major benefit of the system.

  • Comprehensive reports on the profitability of each and every vehicle or vehicle group.
  • Track revenues, costs and profits down to a per kilometre or per hour level
  • Integration across the TMS ensures that vehicle costs, such as repair and maintenance activities are availble in real time as soon as an invoice is entered in the purchase ledger or a job completed in the workshop module.
  • The power to identify the profitability of every activity is enabled by automatically apportioning the standard costs associated with equipment and labour to each completed task, providing profitability per consignment, per lane, per truck, per customer and so forth.
  •

Multi-Legging

The complexities of multi-legging, where several operations are required to complete a single job, are managed ins a straight forward way. A master job is created with mulitple individual movementscatering for mulitple depots, drivers and vehicles. Common operational activities can be generated automatically.

Manifesting

Assign jobs to a manifest based on lanes or routes, use the "drag & drop" feature or let the scheduling module optimise & automate it for you. Print manifests for vehicles, including a trailer-loading sheet, at anytime. Attach costs to manifests, including nominal costs, to provide accurate profitability before you dispatch the load

TransLogix Transfer with EDI

Many of TransLogix's customers are now approached by their customers to set up Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), allowing them to link directly into the transport company's software system to place orders or check on the status of a job. All areas of the TMS can be linked to the customers' systems through a tailor-made solution to meet the needs.

Subcontractor Management

The system automatically calculates when and how much a contractor should be paid and then generates the contractor payment advice. There is no need for the sub-contractor to invoice your company. It manages deductions (i.e. fuel and insurance), provides reporting and ensures that each job is only paid once. The end result can be the production of a Recipient Created Tax Invoice (RCTI) or a simple reconciliation process for a subcontractor invoice you receive.
