Transport
Mobility
Drivers are the linchpin of every transport operation,
and often the point of contact with your customer. If you can
provide them with information and support to do their job
better and safer, then you can also improve the standard of
customer service and safety.
The TransLogix mobility suite provides all the information,
checks and features that a driver needs to do his
job, via an easy to use intuitive interface on widely
available mobile phones, PDAs and fixed in-cab devices.
Mobility gateway
The TransLogix mobility gateway is an integral module of the
transport management suite and provides the ability to communicate
with drivers and the fleet. By combining "back office" operational
data with GPS, POD and other "mobile" data, transport companies,
and their customers, have ready access to real time information on
a single screen.
For example you can see what a vehicle is carrying,
its next drop off point and subsequent capacity on the map. Most
track & trace systems only provide historical data showing
where the vehicle is and where it has been - not where it
is going and what it's doing next.
Features available in the TransLogix Mobility solution
include:
- Vehicle & equipment pre-trip check list
- Driver pre-trip safety check list
- Vehicle & equipment defect log
- Driver work & rest, fatigue management
- Driver run sheet, manifest & job allocation
- Job details, special instructions etc
- Adjust job details, items, quantity, weight, cubic etc
- Update job status
- Sign on glass for proof of delivery
- Send and receive messages from base to driver
- Updated trip plans enroute
- Pallet management

GPS & Mapping Solution
The Mobility Module has inbuilt functionality that enables the
software to collect GPS coordinates from hand held PDA devices
and "black boxes" fixed to vehicles. The solution enables
you to "pull" and log GPS coordinates against a freight address
which will allow the address and relevant data to be displayed on a
map and be used for a number of other functions such as route
optimisation. The system also allows you to set geofences for the
addresses, these being used for purposes such as recording time on
site, off site and so on.
Geo Fencing
A major benefit of having the mapping and GPS integrated to the
Transport Management Solution is the ability to close the gap
between location and operations.
- As the TMS knows the GPS position of an address and its
geo-radius, it knows whether a vehicle is within the
geofence. Coupled with the TMS knowledge of the actual operational
job the vehicle has been allocated, the TMS knows whether the
vehicle is at a collect or deliver point.
- In and Out of collect and Delivery can be calculated
automatically.
- If two geo-radius cross, comparing the operational job the
vehicle is doing will determine which address the vehicle is
at.
- The system will not confuse a position being crossed by a
vehicle (eg: a road) as a vehicle crossing the geo radius will be
compared with the operational job.
- The system enables "actions" to be automatically triggered when
crossing a valid geo fence, such as SMS or email
notification, invoice print and so on.
