Depot Operations

Transport and Logistics operations have depot requirements that range from simple to complex and TransLogix has the right solutions to cope with the infite scenarios that customers may require.

TransLogix Depot Operation solutions are integrated with the Transport Management Solution and can be deployed as a stand alone or enterprise wide system. The key benefits of deploying an integrated transport solution with Depot capability is that the same information is shared across the business and that transport and depot operations are managed as a seamless business process. This reduces admistrative costs, increases accuracy, reduces errors and enables superior customer service. It also helps to ensure that all costs associated with a customer's requirement are captured and invoiced.

In its most basic deployment TransLogix Depot solutions support transport operators to manage the loading, unloading and storage of palletised goods whilst taking into account the different requirements and rate schedules of customers.

In its most complex form TransLogix provide sophisticated tier one 3PL Warehouse capability as described in the Warehouse Section of this web site.

With more than 300 depot and warehouse implementations in Australia and New Zealand to many different segments within the industry including General, Refrigerated, Express Parcel, Car Carriers, Livestock, Bulk and Heavy Haulage, Hazardous goods etc TransLogix has the solutions and experience to achieve the right outcome for your business.

Depot Scanning and Item Level Tracking

TransLogix have developed a sophisticated solution to track all freight at the item level as it moves from the collection through various depots to the end destination. It's designed to reduce administrative overheads through consolidated updates at higher levels, but also so that any individual item can be managed and tracked with a simple scan.

The solution includes easy to use software running on standard hand held RF devices for depot staff to record all movements in real time. When a truck arrives at the depot a single scan (or crossing of a geofence) will update the entire load. Depot staff can then scan freight in to and out of locations as they pack and unpack loads. All these movements are recorded in real time with date stamps which can be used for costing, analysis and invoicing.

Splitting of consignments over multiple trailers and vehicles is supported without the need for any back office staff adjusting consignment details in the computer as each individual item is tracked independently. Items found in locations they shouldn't are simply scanned by the operator, updating their actual location and status. Logic checks on the device ensure that depot staff are warned or blocked from placing a Perth bound item on a Sydney bound trailer and prevented from loading and mixing Hazardous goods that could breach regulations.

This solution captures all the detailed data to enable organisations to comply with most complex and detailed Customer SLAs and KPIs.
